Chairman and Chief Executive

As the Chief Executive Officer Tim’s primary role is the effective management of the business, providing leadership and support to the wider team.

During his time as CEO, Tim has held several additional NED and Trustee roles at both regional and national levels. These include at; The Prince’s Trust, Victim Support, University of Leicester, LOROS Hospice, Leicester Children’s Hospital and a charity he co-founded, The Star Trust.

He is currently a trustee of one of the UK’s leading conservation charities, Twycross Zoo – East Midlands Zoological Society and a non-executive director of Zoo Park Ltd.

In 2017 he was appointed by HM Queen Elizabeth II as High Sheriff of Leicestershire.

Director

Alan joined Berkeley Insurance Group at the beginning of 2022, having spent 30+ years in the national broker market in mostly client service and senior management roles. He has been involved in managing the client accounts of some major UK and International businesses and has a broad range of technical experience across many classes of insurance.

With responsibility for the client service offering from Berkeley Insurance Group, Alan leads a team of experienced and technical Account Executives to deliver a first class service to our clients. Alan is also a member of the board and our Strategic Management Team, using his experience to assist in the growth and development of the business and to help ensure our continued success.

Broking Director

Lee joined Berkeley Insurance Group in 2017 and is our Broking Director and leads our Broking Team, as well as being head of our Birmingham office. He has over 25 year’s broking experience having previously held insurance broking positions in both the UK and Australia.

Lee is responsible for developing and maintaining our key insurer trading relationships along with overseeing the broking and placement across all lines of business. He is highly experienced and well placed to fully understand our client’s cover needs, in order to design and implement appropriate insurance programmes and broking strategies.

Lee is a Chartered Insurance Broker and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Financial Risks Director

John is Financial Risks Director and leads on Cyber, Professional Indemnity and other specialist insurances.

He has over 35 years’ experience of advising businesses on the financial, legal and regulatory risks that they face. In addition to useful, practical advice, John can provide our clients with in-house training on a variety of risk awareness topics in these areas.

As a market leader in Cyber insurance, John was asked to be a founding member and Chairman of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association’s Cyber focus group. This committee represents the interests of the UK’s insurance brokers and liaises with His Majesty’s Government, National Cyber Security Centre and other interested parties. His profile in this specialist area led to John being asked to sit on other external advisory groups and he is often invited to speak at Cyber conferences and business networking events.

Chief Financial Officer

Jonathan is a member of the Strategic Leadership Team of the business, with a focus on financial performance over the short, medium and longer term.

As well as contributing to relevant internal projects and initiatives, Jonathan also takes ultimate responsibility for the finance function of Berkeley Insurance Group.

Jonathan joined the group in 2009 following a career in private practice, having specialised in the audit of a variety of regulated sector businesses.
